His buttery words are smooth, but war is in his heart. His words are softer than oil, but they are drawn swords.

I am surrounded by lions; I lie down with those who devour men. Their teeth are spears and arrows; their tongues are sharp swords.

They have venom like the venom of a snake, like the deaf cobra that stops up its ears,

Look, they spew from their mouths — sharp words from their lips. “For who,” they say, “will hear? ”

One with a twisted mind will not succeed, and one with deceitful speech will fall into ruin.

If the snake bites before it is charmed, then there is no advantage for the charmer.

Their throat is an open grave; they deceive with their tongues. Vipers’ venom is under their lips.

Their wine is serpents’ venom, the deadly poison of cobras.

And the tongue is a fire. The tongue, a world of unrighteousness, is placed among the parts of our bodies. It pollutes the whole body, sets the course of life on fire, and is set on fire by hell.

Every sea creature, reptile, bird, or animal is tamed and has been tamed by man,

So the great dragon was thrown out — the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world. He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him.
