Mephibosheth son of Jonathan son of Saul came to David, bowed down to the ground and paid homage. David said, “Mephibosheth! ” “I am your servant,” he replied.

He looked up, and he saw three men standing near him. When he saw them, he ran from the entrance of the tent to meet them and bowed to the ground.

He himself went on ahead and bowed to the ground seven times until he approached his brother.

So King David had him brought from the house of Machir son of Ammiel in Lo-debar.

Jonathan’s son was Merib-baal, and Merib-baal fathered Micah.

When the young man had gone, David got up from the south side of the stone Ezel, fell with his face to the ground, and bowed three times. Then he and Jonathan kissed each other and wept with each other, though David wept more.

When Abigail saw David, she quickly got off the donkey and fell with her face to the ground in front of David.
