this would also be a crime deserving punishment, for I would have denied God above.

Have I rejoiced over my enemy’s distress, or become excited when trouble came his way?

Don’t gloat when your enemy falls, and don’t let your heart rejoice when he stumbles,

David and the troops with him wept loudly until they had no strength left to weep.
