After that, David got up, went out of the cave, and called to Saul, “My lord the king! ” When Saul looked behind him, David bowed to the ground in homage.

Then Abram fell facedown and God spoke with him:

Bathsheba bowed with her face to the ground, paying homage to the king, and said, “May my lord King David live forever! ”

Honor your father and your mother so that you may have a long life in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

Pay your obligations to everyone: taxes to those you owe taxes, tolls to those you owe tolls, respect to those you owe respect, and honor to those you owe honor.

When the young man had gone, David got up from the south side of the stone Ezel, fell with his face to the ground, and bowed three times. Then he and Jonathan kissed each other and wept with each other, though David wept more.

With these words David persuaded his men, and he did not let them rise up against Saul. Then Saul left the cave and went on his way.

David said to Saul, “Why do you listen to the words of people who say, ‘Look, David intends to harm you’?

Saul recognized David’s voice and asked, “Is that your voice, my son David? ” “It is my voice, my lord and king,” David said.

Then Saul asked her, “What does he look like? ” “An old man is coming up,” she replied. “He’s wearing a robe.” Then Saul knew that it was Samuel, and he bowed his face to the ground and paid homage.
