Haman recounted to Zeresh his wife and all his friends everything that had happened to him. Then his wise men and Zeresh his wife said to him, *If Mordekhai, before whom you have begun to fall, is of Jewish descent, you will not prevail against him, but you will surely fall before him.*
For the LORD will have compassion on Ya`akov, and will yet choose Yisra'el, and set them in their own land. The foreigner will join himself with them, and they will unite with the house of Ya`akov.
You whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, and called from its corners, and said to you, 'You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you away;'
The portion of Ya`akov is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and Yisra'el is the tribe of his inheritance: the LORD of Armies is his name.
Therefore all those who devour you shall be devoured; and all your adversaries, everyone of them, shall go into captivity; and those who despoil you shall be a spoil, and all who prey on you will I give for a prey.
The portion of Ya`akov is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and [Yisra'el] is the tribe of his inheritance: the LORD of Armies is his name.
*Proclaim further, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of Armies: *My cities will again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Tziyon, and will again choose Yerushalayim.*'*
The LORD said to Hasatan, *The LORD rebuke you, Hasatan! Yes, the LORD who has chosen Yerushalayim rebuke you! Isn't this a burning stick plucked out of the fire?*
