In all places in which I have walked with all the children of Yisra'el, spoke I a word with any of the tribes of Yisra'el, whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people Yisra'el, saying, Why have you not built me a house of cedar?
For you did separate them from among all the peoples of the earth, to be your inheritance, as you spoke by Moshe your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, Lord GOD.
Whoever is left, in any place where he sojourns, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with animals, besides the freewill offering for the house of God which is in Yerushalayim.
Oh that the yeshu`ah of Yisra'el would come out of Tziyon! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, then Ya`akov shall rejoice, and Yisra'el shall be glad.
He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom. He will gently lead those who have their young.
Listen to me, house of Ya`akov, and all the remnant of the house of Yisra'el, that have been borne [by me] from their birth, that have been carried from the womb;
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them, and carried them all the days of old.
The portion of Ya`akov is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and Yisra'el is the tribe of his inheritance: the LORD of Armies is his name.
For thus says the LORD, Sing with gladness for Ya`akov, and shout for the chief of the nations: publish you, praise you, and say, the LORD, save your people, the remnant of Yisra'el.
But you, Beit-Lechem Efratah, being small among the clans of Yehudah, out of you one will come forth to me that is to be ruler in Yisra'el; whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.
He shall stand, and shall shepherd in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God: and they will live, for then he will be great to the ends of the earth.
Shepherd your people with your staff, the flock of your heritage, who dwell by themselves in a forest, in the midst of fertile pasture land, let them feed; in Bashan and Gil`ad, as in the days of old.
'You Beit-Lechem, land of Yehudah, are in no way least among the princes of Yehudah: for out of you shall come forth a governor, who shall shepherd my people, Yisra'el.'*
having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the holy ones,
and in the wilderness, where you have seen how that the LORD your God bore you, as a man does bear his son, in all the way that you went, until you came to this place.
I prayed to the LORD, and said, Lord GOD, don't destroy your people and your inheritance, that you have redeemed through your greatness, that you have brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
