Yisra'el saw the great work which the LORD did to the Egyptians, and the people feared the LORD; and they believed in the LORD, and in his servant Moshe.
Then Moshe and the children of Yisra'el sang this song to the LORD, and said, *I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously. The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.
Those on the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; but these have no root, who believe for a while, then fall away in time of temptation.
