that I gave my brother Chanani, and Chananyah the governor of the castle, charge over Yerushalayim; for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many.
It will happen, as soon as I am gone from you, that the Spirit of the LORD will carry you I don't know where; and so when I come and tell Ach'av, and he can't find you, he will kill me: but I your servant fear the LORD from my youth.
that Chanani, one of my brothers, came, he and certain men out of Yehudah; and I asked them concerning the Jews who had escaped, who were left of the captivity, and concerning Yerushalayim.
I made treasurers over the treasuries, Shelemyahu the Kohen, and Tzadok the scribe, and of the Levites, Pedayahu: and next to them was Chanan the son of Zakkur, the son of Mattanyah; for they were counted faithful, and their business was to distribute to their brothers.
and a letter to Asaf the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the castle which appertains to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. The king granted me, according to the good hand of my God on me.
But the former governors who were before me were chargeable to the people, and took of them bread and wine, besides forty shekels of silver; yes, even their servants bore rule over the people: but I didn't do so, because of the fear of God.

Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God: men of truth, hating unjust gain; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
Then the presidents and the satraps sought to find occasion against Daniyel as touching the kingdom; but they could find no occasion nor fault, because he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
*His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'
