His talmidim asked him, saying, *Then why do the scribes say that Eliyahu must come first?*

If you are willing to receive it, this is Eliyahu, who is to come.

They said, *Some say Yochanan the immerser, some, Eliyahu, and others, Yirmeyahu, or one of the prophets.*

Yeshua answered them, *Eliyahu indeed comes first, and will restore all things,

They asked him, saying, *Why do the scribes say that Eliyahu must come first?*

They asked him, *What then? Are you Eliyahu?* He said, *I am not.* *Are you the Prophet?* He answered, *No.*

They asked him, *Why then do you immerse, if you are not the Messiah, nor Eliyahu, nor the Prophet?*
