The multitudes said, *This is the prophet, Yeshua, from Natzeret of the Galil.*


They told him, *Yochanan the immerser, and others say Eliyahu, but others: one of the prophets.*

Now when the Parush who had invited him saw it, he said to himself, *This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what kind of woman this is who touches him, that she is a sinner.*


Fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying, *A great prophet has arisen among us!* and, *God has visited his people!*


He will go before him in the spirit and power of Eliyahu, 'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,' and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.*


But Herod, when he heard this, said, *This is Yochanan, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead.*
