While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue's house came, saying to him, *Your daughter is dead. Don't trouble the Rabbi.*


Yeshua said, *Take away the stone.* Marta, the sister of him who was dead, said to him, *Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.*


When she had said this, she went away, and called Miriam, her sister, secretly, saying, *The Rabbi is here, and is calling you.*


Most certainly, I tell you, the hour comes, and now is, when the dead will hear the Son of God's voice; and those who hear will live.

Therefore when Miriam came to where Yeshua was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying to him, *Lord, if you would have been here, my brother wouldn't have died.*


Yeshua said to her, *I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies.


Therefore Marta said to Yeshua, *Lord, if you would have been here, my brother wouldn't have died.


He said, *Go into the city to a certain person, and tell him, 'The Rabbi says, *My time is at hand. I will keep the Pesach at your house with my talmidim.*'*


While he told these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped him, saying, *My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.*


However, knowing this, Yeshua said to them, *Why do you trouble the woman? Because she has done a good work for me.
