In those times there was no shalom to him who went out, nor to him who came in; but great vexations were on all the inhabitants of the lands.

But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, The LORD will lead them away with the workers of iniquity. Shalom be on Yisra'el.

The highways are desolate. The travelling man ceases. The covenant is broken. He has despised the cities. He doesn't regard man.

Don't go forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy, [and] terror, are on every side.

The ways of Tziyon do mourn, because none come to the solemn assembly; all her gates are desolate, her Kohanim do sigh: her virgins are afflicted, and she herself is in bitterness.

They hunt our steps, so that we can't go in our streets: Our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come.

I will send the wild animals among you, which will rob you of your children, destroy your livestock, and make you few in number; and your roads will become desolate.

Therefore Tziyon for your sake will be plowed like a field, and Yerushalayim will become heaps of rubble, and the mountain of the temple like the high places of a forest.

After him was Shamgar the son of `Anat, who struck of the Pelishtim six hundred men with an oxgoad: and he also saved Yisra'el.

The rulers ceased in Yisra'el. They ceased until I, Devorah, arose; Until I arose a mother in Yisra'el.
