Now while Ezra prayed and made confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there was gathered together to him out of Yisra'el a very great assembly of men and women and children; for the people wept very sore.

For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world works death.

Lament, mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to gloom.

They called the name of that place Bokhim: and they sacrificed there to the LORD.

Then came the messengers to Gevah of Sha'ul, and spoke these words in the ears of the people: and all the people lifted up their voice, and wept.

They gathered together to Mitzpah, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, *We have sinned against the LORD.* Shemu'el judged the children of Yisra'el in Mitzpah.
