Now she had an ambush waiting in the inner chamber. She said to him, *The Pelishtim are on you, Shimshon!* He broke the cords, as a string of tow is broken when it touches the fire. So his strength was not known.

Now the Spirit of the LORD departed from Sha'ul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.

It happened on the next day, that an evil spirit from God came mightily on Sha'ul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as he did day by day. Sha'ul had his spear in his hand;

Sha'ul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, and was departed from Sha'ul.
