Their possessions and habitations were Beit-El and the towns of it, and eastward Naaran, and westward Gezer, with the towns of it; Shekhem also and the towns of it, to Azzah and the towns of it;
and the border went out westward at Mikhmetat on the north; and the border turned about eastward to Ta'anat-Shiloh, and passed along it on the east of Yano`ach;
that the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap, a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Tzaretan; and those that went down toward the sea of the `Aravah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off: and the people passed over right against Yericho.
Yehoshua charged them with an oath at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that rises up and builds this city Yericho: with the loss of his firstborn shall he lay the foundation of it, and with the loss of his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.
