The border of the children of Efrayim according to their families was [thus]: the border of their inheritance eastward was `Atarot-Addar, to Beit-Choron the upper;
Their possessions and habitations were Beit-El and the towns of it, and eastward Naaran, and westward Gezer, with the towns of it; Shekhem also and the towns of it, to Azzah and the towns of it;
The LORD confused them before Yisra'el, and he killed them with a great slaughter at Giv`on, and chased them by the way of the ascent of Beit-Choron, and struck them to `Azeka, and to Makkedah.
The border passed along from there to Luz, to the side of Luz (the same is Beit-El), southward; and the border went down to `Atarot-Addar, by the mountain that lies on the south of Beit-Choron the lower.
