Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, you backsliding Yisra'el, says the LORD; I will not look in anger on you; for I am merciful, says the LORD, I will not keep [anger] forever.
I listened and heard, but they didn't speak aright: no man repents him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? everyone turns to his course, as a horse that rushes headlong in the battle.
Their hands are on that which is evil to do it diligently. The ruler and judge ask for a bribe; and the powerful man dictates the evil desire of his soul. Thus they conspire together.
