Most certainly my house is not so with God, yet he has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure, for it is all my salvation, and all [my] desire, although he doesn't make it grow.
therefore thus says the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, Behold, I bring such evil on Yerushalayim and Yehudah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears shall tingle.
because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even to this day.
Menasheh seduced Yehudah and the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, so that they did evil more than did the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Yisra'el.
I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people who anger me will I give him a charge to take the spoil and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
Thus says the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother's divorce, with which I have put her away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities were you sold, and for your transgressions was your mother put away.
Therefore the Lord will not rejoice over their young men, neither will he have compassion on their fatherless and widows; for everyone is profane and an evil-doer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, who refused to hear my words; and they are gone after other gods to serve them: the house of Yisra'el and the house of Yehudah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.
They shall inquire concerning Tziyon with their faces turned toward it, [saying], Come, and join yourselves to the LORD in an everlasting covenant that shall not be forgotten.
But the house of Yisra'el rebelled against me in the wilderness: they didn't walk in my statutes, and they rejected my ordinances, which if a man keep, he shall live in them; and my Shabbatot they greatly profaned. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them in the wilderness, to consume them.
because they had not executed my ordinances, but had rejected my statutes, and had profaned my Shabbatot, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.
Moreover I will make a covenant of shalom with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them forevermore.
He shall speak words against the Elyon, and shall wear out the holy ones of the Elyon; and he shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time.
*'You shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my ordinances, and do them; that the land, where I am bringing you to dwell, may not vomit you out.
But Yeshurun grew fat, and kicked. You have grown fat. You have grown thick. You have become sleek. Then he forsook God who made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
He said, I will hide my face from them. I will see what their end shall be; for they are a very perverse generation, children in whom is no faithfulness.
When you disobey the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods, and bow down yourselves to them; then will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and you shall perish quickly from off the good land which he has given to you.
