In rebellion, a land has many rulers, but order is maintained by a man of understanding and knowledge.

Surely now they will say, *We have no king; for we don't fear the LORD; and the king, what can he do for us?*

Shemu'el said to Sha'ul, I will not return with you; for you have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being king over Yisra'el.

The LORD said to Shemu'el, How long will you mourn for Sha'ul, seeing I have rejected him from being king over Yisra'el? fill your horn with oil, and go: I will send you to Yishai the Beit-Hallachmite; for I have provided me a king among his sons.
