and he sent forth a raven. It went back and forth, until the waters were dried up from the earth.

It happened at the end of forty days, that Noach opened the window of the teivah which he had made,

He sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from the surface of the ground,

It shall be, that you shall drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.

The ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

Who provides for the raven his prey, when his young ones cry to God, and wander for lack of food?

He provides food for the livestock, and for the young ravens when they call.
