Yosef said to his brothers, *I am dying, but God will surely visit you, and bring you up out of this land to the land which he swore to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Ya`akov.*
In that day the LORD made a covenant with Avram, saying, *To your seed I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Perat:
I will give to you, and to your seed after you, the land where you are traveling, all the land of Kena`an, for an everlasting possession. I will be their God.*
Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you. For to you, and to your seed, I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath which I swore to Avraham your father.
Behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, *I am the LORD, the God of Avraham your father, and the God of Yitzchak. The land whereon you lie, to you will I give it, and to your seed.
By the sweat of your face will you eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For you are dust, and to dust you shall return.*
The time drew near that Yisra'el must die, and he called his son Yosef, and said to him, *If now I have found favor in your sight, please put your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me. Please don't bury me in Egypt,
'My father made me swear, saying, *Behold, I am dying. Bury me in my grave which I have dug for myself in the land of Kena`an.* Now therefore, please let me go up and bury my father, and I will come again.'*
Moshe took the bones of Yosef with him, for he had made the children of Yisra'el swear, saying, *God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones away from here with you.*
I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey; to the place of the Kena`ani, the Chittite, the Amori, the Perizzi, the Chivvi, and the Yevusi.
The LORD spoke to Moshe, *Depart, go up from here, you and the people that you have brought up out of the land of Egypt, to the land of which I swore to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Ya`akov, saying, 'I will give it to your seed.'
The people believed, and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Yisra'el, and that he had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.
yes, they shall be afraid of heights, and terrors will be in the way; and the almond tree shall blossom, and the khagav shall be a burden, and desire shall fail; because man goes to his everlasting home, and the mourners go about the streets:
Surely none of the men who came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Ya`akov; because they have not wholly followed me:
Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Ya`akov, to give to them and to their seed after them.
It shall be, when the LORD your God shall bring you into the land which he swore to your fathers, to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Ya`akov, to give you, great and goodly cities, which you didn't build,
The bones of Yosef, which the children of Yisra'el brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shekhem, in the parcel of ground which Ya`akov bought of the sons of Chamor the father of Shekhem for a hundred pieces of money: and they became the inheritance of the children of Yosef.
