All his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted. He said, *For I will go down to She'ol to my son mourning.* His father wept for him.

Avraham gave up the spirit, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years, and was gathered to his people.

It was told Yo'av, Behold, the king weeps and mourns for Avshalom.

Efrayim their father mourned many days, and his brothers came to comfort him.

Now when Iyov's three friends heard of all this evil that had come on him, they each came from his own place: Elifaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuchite, and Tzofar the Na`amatite, and they made an appointment together to come to sympathize with him and to comfort him.

In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord. My hand was stretched out in the night, and didn't get tired. My soul refused to be comforted.

I remember God, and I groan. I complain, and my spirit is overwhelmed. Selah.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in She'ol, where you are going.

Thus says the LORD: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children; she refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.
