She conceived again, and bare a son, and said, *Because the LORD has heard that I am hated, he has therefore given me this son also.* She named him Shim`on.
It happened on the third day, when they were sore, that two of Ya`akov's sons, Shim`on and Levi, Dinah's brothers, each took his sword, came upon the unsuspecting city, and killed all the males.
Ya`akov said to Shim`on and Levi, *You have troubled me, to make me odious to the inhabitants of the land, among the Kena`anim and the Perizzi. I am few in number. They will gather themselves together against me and strike me, and I will be destroyed, I and my house.*
He turned himself away from them, and wept. Then he returned to them, and spoke to them, and took Shim`on from among them, and bound him before their eyes.
If a man have two wives, the one beloved, and the other hated, and they have borne him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers who was hated;
