He went on his journeys from the South even to Beit-El, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Beit-El and `Ai,
Avram passed through the land to the place of Shekhem, to the oak of Moreh. The Kena`ani was then in the land.
Moshe sent them to spy out the land of Kena`an, and said to them, Go up this way by the South, and go up into the hill country:
By faith, he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a land not his own, dwelling in tents, with Yitzchak and Ya`akov, the heirs with him of the same promise.
