At the evening offering I arose up from my humiliation, even with my garment and my robe torn; and I fell on my knees, and spread out my hands to the LORD my God;
whatever prayer and supplication be made by any man, [or] by all your people Yisra'el, who shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:
It was so, that when Shlomo had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication to the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread forth toward heaven.
(for Shlomo had made a bronze scaffold, five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and on it he stood, and kneeled down on his knees before all the assembly of Yisra'el, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;)
Moshe said to him, *As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands to the LORD. The thunders shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that you may know that the earth is the LORD's.
Moshe went out of the city from Par`oh, and spread abroad his hands to the LORD; and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured on the earth.
When it happened that we had accomplished the days, we departed and went on our journey. They all, with wives and children, brought us on our way until we were out of the city. Kneeling down on the beach, we prayed.
