For thus says the Lord GOD: When I shall make you a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep on you, and the great waters shall cover you;

He caused me to pass by them round about: and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and behold, they were very dry.

For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires.

Why is it judged incredible with you, if God does raise the dead?

But someone will say, *How are the dead raised?* and, *With what kind of body do they come?*

Oh that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

concluding that God is able to raise up even from the dead. Figuratively speaking, he also did receive him back from the dead.

The LORD kills, and makes alive. He brings down to She'ol, and brings up.
