Be it far from you to do things like that, to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be like the wicked. May that be far from you. Shouldn't the Judge of all the earth do right?*

Righteous are you, LORD, when I contend with you; yet would I reason the cause with you: why does the way of the wicked prosper? why are all they at ease who deal very treacherously?

When the righteous man turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and dies therein; in his iniquity that he has done shall he die.

Yet says the house of Yisra'el, The way of the Lord is not equal. house of Yisra'el, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?

Yet the children of your people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.

Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not equal. House of Yisra'el, I will judge you everyone after his ways.

The LORD, in the midst of her, is righteous. He will do no wrong. Every morning he brings his justice to light. He doesn't fail, but the unjust know no shame.

You have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet you say, 'How have we wearied him?' In that you say, 'Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delights in them;' or 'Where is the God of justice?'

For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn't subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what will we say? Is God unrighteous who inflicts wrath? I speak like men do.

But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed ask him who formed it, *Why did you make me like this?*

The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice: a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and right is he.
