Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.

How the faithful city has become a prostitute! She was full of justice; righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers.

How can you say, I am not defiled, I have not gone after the Ba`alim? see your way in the valley, know what you have done: [you are] a swift dromedary traversing her ways;

Why cry you for your hurt? your pain is incurable: for the greatness of your iniquity, because your sins were increased, I have done these things to you.

I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, says the Lord GOD.
