It happened the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Tzidkiyahu king of Yehudah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, that Chananyah the son of Azur, the prophet, who was of Giv`on, spoke to me in the house of the LORD, in the presence of the Kohanim and of all the people, saying,
Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus says the LORD concerning Shemayah the Nechelami: Because Shemayah has prophesied to you, and I didn't send him, and he has caused you to trust in a lie;
Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Shalom; and there is no shalom; and when one builds up a wall, behold, they daub it with whitewash:
Thus will I accomplish my wrath on the wall, and on those who have daubed it with whitewash; and I will tell you, The wall is no more, neither those who daubed it;
