Now go, lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you. Behold, my angel shall go before you. Nevertheless in the day when I punish, I will punish them for their sin.*
You shall bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of your inheritance, the place, LORD, which you have made for yourself to dwell in; the sanctuary, Lord, which your hands have established.
you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me,
and I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Kena`ani, the Chittite, the Amori, the Perizzi, the Chivvi, and the Yevusi, to a land flowing with milk and honey.*'

that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Hevel to the blood of Zekharyah son of Berekhyah, whom you killed between the sanctuary and the altar.
Vengeance is mine, and recompense, at the time when their foot slides; for the day of their calamity is at hand. The things that are to come on them shall make haste.
