Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice, and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own possession from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine;
For you did separate them from among all the peoples of the earth, to be your inheritance, as you spoke by Moshe your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, Lord GOD.
and he said, *If you will diligently listen to the voice of the LORD your God, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his mitzvot, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am the LORD who heals you.*
He said, *If now I have found favor in your sight, Lord, please let the Lord go in the midst of us; although this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.*
and I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end you may know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth.
Moshe said to him, *As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands to the LORD. The thunders shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that you may know that the earth is the LORD's.
But now thus says the LORD who created you, Ya`akov, and he who formed you, Yisra'el: *Don't be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine.
The portion of Ya`akov is not like these; for he is the former of all things; and Yisra'el is the tribe of his inheritance: the LORD of Armies is his name.
For as the belt cleaves to the waist of a man, so have I caused to cleave to me the whole house of Yisra'el and the whole house of Yehudah, says the LORD; that they may be to me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.
but this thing I commanded them, saying, Listen to my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people; and walk you in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.
Now when I passed by you, and looked at you, behold, your time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over you, and covered your nakedness: yes, I swore to you, and entered into a covenant with you, says the Lord GOD, and you became mine.
But I have said to you, *You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey.* I am the LORD your God, who has separated you from the peoples.
Woe to those who are at ease in Tziyon, and to those who are secure on the mountain of Shomron, the notable men of the chief of the nations, to whom the house of Yisra'el come!
They shall be mine,* says the LORD of Armies, *my own possession in the day that I make, and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.
But if anyone says to you, *This was offered to idols,* don't eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of conscience. For *the earth is the Lord's, and all its fullness.*
For you are a holy people to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples who are on the face of the earth.
You shall not eat of anything that dies of itself: you may give it to the foreigner living among you who is within your gates, that he may eat it; or you may sell it to a foreigner: for you are a holy people to the LORD your God. You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.
and to make you high above all nations that he has made, in praise, and in name, and in honor; and that you may be a holy people to the LORD your God, as he has spoken.
It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all his mitzvot which I command you this day, that the LORD your God will set you on high above all the nations of the earth:
The LORD will establish you for a holy people to himself, as he has sworn to you; if you shall keep the mitzvot of the LORD your God, and walk in his ways.
For you are a holy people to the LORD your God: the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples who are on the face of the earth.
By faith, Avraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to the place which he was to receive for an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he went.
not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; for they didn't continue in my covenant, and I disregarded them,* says the Lord.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
Shemu'el said, Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.
