The LORD said to Moshe, *Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you forever.* Moshe told the words of the people to the LORD.
with him will I speak mouth to mouth, even manifestly, and not in dark speeches; and the form of the LORD shall he see: why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant, against Moshe?
While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, *This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.*
For this is he who was spoken of by Yeshaiyahu the prophet, saying, *The voice of one crying in the wilderness, make ready the way of the Lord. Make his paths straight.*
He wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten mitzvot, which the LORD spoke to you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them to me.
Out of heaven he made you to hear his voice, that he might instruct you: and on earth he made you to see his great fire; and you heard his words out of the midst of the fire.
These words the LORD spoke to all your assembly on the mountain out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. He wrote them on two tables of stone, and gave them to me.
The LORD delivered to me the two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them [was written] according to all the words, which the LORD spoke with you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.
