There have I set a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.
There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone which Moshe put there at Chorev, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Yisra'el, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
Now therefore write you this song for you, and teach you it the children of Yisra'el: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Yisra'el.
For I know your rebellion, and your stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, you have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death?
Moshe wrote this law, and delivered it to the Kohanim the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Yisra'el.
Then Shemu'el told the people the manner of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it up before the LORD. Shemu'el sent all the people away, every man to his house.
