Benayah the son of Yehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kavtz'el, who had done mighty deeds, he killed the two [sons of] Ari'el of Mo'av: he went down also and killed a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.

and Benayah the son of Yehoiada was over the Kereti and the Peleti; and the sons of David were chief about the king.

Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed. Trembling takes hold of the mighty men of Mo'av. All the inhabitants of Kena`an are melted away.

The uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Yehudah toward the border of Edom in the South were Kavtz'el, and `Eder, and Yagur,
