Then Avshalom sent for Yo'av, to send him to the king; but he would not come to him: and he sent again a second time, but he would not come.

Avshalom lived two full years in Yerushalayim; and he didn't see the king's face.

But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's mitzvah by the eunuchs. Therefore the king was very angry, and his anger burned in him.

and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast, but they would not come.
