Par`oh-Nekho made Elyakim the son of Yoshiyahu king in the room of Yoshiyahu his father, and changed his name to Yehoiakim: but he took Yeho'achaz away; and he came to Egypt, and died there.
The king of Egypt made Elyakim his brother king over Yehudah and Yerushalayim, and changed his name to Yehoiakim. Nekho took Yo'achaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.
It came also in the days of Yehoiakim the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah, to the end of the eleventh year of Tzidkiyahu, the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah, to the carrying away of Yerushalayim captive in the fifth month.
The word which came to Yirmeyahu from the LORD, when king Tzidkiyahu sent to him Pashchur the son of Malkiyah, and Tzefanyah the son of Ma`aseyah, the Kohen, saying,
Tzidkiyahu the son of Yoshiyahu reigned as king, instead of Konyahu the son of Yehoiakim, whom Nevukhadnetzar 1 king of Bavel made king in the land of Yehudah.
Tzidkiyahu was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Yerushalayim: and his mother's name was Chamutal the daughter of Yirmeyahu of Livna.
As I live, says the Lord GOD, surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the midst of Bavel he shall die.
