In the two and fiftieth year of `Azaryah king of Yehudah Pekach the son of Remalyahu began to reign over Yisra'el in Shomron, [and reigned] twenty years.
Pekach the son of Remalyahu, his captain, conspired against him, and struck him in Shomron, in the castle of the king's house, with Argov and Arye; and with him were fifty men of the Gil`adi: and he killed him, and reigned in his place.
For Pekach the son of Remalyahu killed in Yehudah one hundred twenty thousand in one day, all of them valiant men; because they had forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers.
It happened in the days of Achaz the son of Yotam, the son of `Uzziyah, king of Yehudah, that Retzin the king of Syria, and Pekach the son of Remalyahu, king of Yisra'el, went up to Yerushalayim to war against it, but could not prevail against it.
