He built up the altar of the LORD, and offered thereon sacrifices of shalom offerings and of thanksgiving, and commanded Yehudah to serve the LORD, the God of Yisra'el.
For I have known him, to the end that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice; to the end that the LORD may bring on Avraham that which he has spoken of him.*
Then they went in to Chizkiyahu the king within [the palace], and said, We have cleansed all the house of the LORD, and the altar of burnt offering, with all the vessels of it, and the table of show bread, with all the vessels of it.
Then Chizkiyahu answered, Now you have consecrated yourselves to the LORD; come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of the LORD. The assembly brought in sacrifices and thank offerings; and as many as were of a willing heart [brought] burnt offerings.
Menasheh seduced Yehudah and the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, so that they did evil more than did the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Yisra'el.
