Now after this he built an outer wall to the city of David, on the west side of Gichon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate; and he compassed `Ofel about [with it], and raised it up to a very great height: and he put valiant captains in all the fortified cities of Yehudah.

The king said to them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Shlomo my son to ride on my own mule, and bring him down to Gichon:

and Tzadok the Kohen and Natan the prophet have anointed him king in Gichon; and they are come up from there rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that you have heard.

These were those who waited on the king, besides those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Yehudah.

He built the upper gate of the house of the LORD, and on the wall of `Ofel he built much.

This same Chizkiyahu also stopped the upper spring of the waters of Gichon, and brought them straight down on the west side of the city of David. Chizkiyahu prospered in all his works.

and above the gate of Efrayim, and by the old gate, and by the fish gate, and the tower of Chanan'el, and the tower of Hammeah, even to the sheep gate: and they stood still in the gate of the guard.

The fish gate did the sons of Sena'ah build; they laid the beams of it, and set up the doors of it, the bolts of it, and the bars of it.

For the palace will be forsaken. The populous city will be deserted. The hill and the watchtower will be for dens forever, a delight for wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks;

In that day, says the LORD, there will be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, a wailing from the second quarter, and a great crashing from the hills.
