Does not Chizkiyahu persuade you, to give you over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, the LORD our God will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Ashur?
But Ravshakeh said to them, Has my master sent me to your master, and to you, to speak these words? Hasn't he sent me to the men who sit on the wall, to eat their own dung, and to drink their own water with you?
neither let Chizkiyahu make you trust in the LORD, saying, the LORD will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Ashur.
Thus shall you speak to Chizkiyahu king of Yehudah, saying, Don't let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, Yerushalayim shall not be given into the hand of the king of Ashur.
Has not the same Chizkiyahu taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Yehudah and Yerushalayim, saying, You shall worship before one altar, and on it shall you burn incense?
Now therefore don't let Chizkiyahu deceive you, nor persuade you after this manner, neither believe you him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of my hand?
But Ravshakeh said, *Has my master sent me only to your master and to you, to speak these words, and not to the men who sit on the wall, who will eat their own dung and drink their own urine with you?*
Beware lest Chizkiyahu persuade you, saying, *The LORD will deliver us.* Have any of the gods of the nations delivered their lands from the hand of the king of Ashur?
