Notwithstanding, the LORD didn't turn from the fierceness of his great wrath, with which his anger was kindled against Yehudah, because of all the provocation with which Menasheh had provoked him.

The king stood by the pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his mitzvot, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all [his] heart, and all [his] soul, to confirm the words of this covenant that were written in this book: and all the people stood to the covenant.

Yehoiada made a covenant between himself, and all the people, and the king, that they should be the LORD's people.

and Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. All the people answered, Amein, Amein, with the lifting up of their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground.

Yet for all this we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, our Levites, [and] our Kohanim, seal to it.

Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, you backsliding Yisra'el, says the LORD; I will not look in anger on you; for I am merciful, says the LORD, I will not keep [anger] forever.

Will he retain [his anger] forever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, you have spoken and have done evil things, and have had your way.

You were now turned, and had done that which is right in my eyes, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbor; and you had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:

I will give the men who have transgressed my covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant which they made before me, when they cut the calf in two and passed between the parts of it;

They shall inquire concerning Tziyon with their faces turned toward it, [saying], Come, and join yourselves to the LORD in an everlasting covenant that shall not be forgotten.

This was not as we had hoped, but first they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us through the will of God.

They raised over him a great heap of stones, to this day; and the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Therefore the name of that place was called *The valley of `Akhor* to this day.
