However the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places. He built the upper gate of the house of the LORD.
He took the captains of hundreds, and the nobles, and the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought down the king from the house of the LORD: and they came through the upper gate to the king's house, and set the king on the throne of the kingdom.
Now after this he built an outer wall to the city of David, on the west side of Gichon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate; and he compassed `Ofel about [with it], and raised it up to a very great height: and he put valiant captains in all the fortified cities of Yehudah.
When the princes of Yehudah heard these things, they came up from the king's house to the house of the LORD; and they sat in the entry of the new gate of the LORD's [house].
