But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear:
*Come now, and let us reason together,* says the LORD: *Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
But when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in the midst of him, they will sanctify my name. Yes, they will sanctify the Holy One of Ya`akov, and will stand in awe of the God of Yisra'el.
The LORD said to Moshe and Aharon, Because you didn't believe in me, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Yisra'el, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.
