His house where he was to dwell, the other court within the porch, was of the like work. He made also a house for Par`oh's daughter (whom Shlomo had taken as wife), like this porch.
Shlomo made affinity with Par`oh king of Egypt, and took Par`oh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Yerushalayim round about.
All these were of costly stones, even of hewn stone, according to measure, sawed with saws, inside and outside, even from the foundation to the coping, and so on the outside to the great court.
Par`oh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Kena`anim who lived in the city, and given it for a portion to his daughter, Shlomo's wife.
Shlomo brought up the daughter of Par`oh out of the city of David to the house that he had built for her; for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Yisra'el, because the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the LORD has come.
