He asked life of you, you gave it to him, even length of days forever and ever.

I will also make his seed endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

Take away the wicked from the king's presence, and his throne will be established in righteousness.

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: As I live, surely my oath that he has despised, and my covenant that he has broken, I will even bring it on his own head.

But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the LORD; and be sure your sin will find you out.

All the people answered, *May his blood be on us, and on our children!*

*Glory to God in the highest, On earth peace, good will toward men.*

When they opposed him and blasphemed, he shook out his clothing and said to them, *Your blood be on your own heads! I am clean. From now on, I will go to the Gentiles!*

that the violence done to the seventy sons of Yerubba`al might come, and that their blood might be laid on Avimelekh their brother, who killed them, and on the men of Shekhem, who strengthened his hands to kill his brothers.
