and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my mitzvot.

Know therefore that the LORD your God, he is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with them who love him and keep his mitzvot to a thousand generations,

*For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Yisra'el. After those days,* says the Lord; *I will put my laws into their mind, I will also write them on their heart. I will be to them a God, and they will be to me a people.

This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his mitzvot.

This is love, that we should walk according to his mitzvot. This is the mitzvah, even as you heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.
