Brothers, I write no new mitzvah to you, but an old mitzvah which you had from the beginning. The old mitzvah is the word which you heard from the beginning.

*'You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people; but you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.


For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;


This is his mitzvah, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Yeshua the Messiah, and love one another, even as he commanded.


and you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.


The stranger who lives as a foreigner with you shall be to you as the native-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you lived as foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.


Therefore, as for you, let that remain in you which you heard from the beginning. If that which you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son, and in the Father.


*You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.'


They took hold of him, and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, *May we know what this new teaching is, which is spoken by you?


A new mitzvah I give to you, that you love one another, just like I have loved you; that you also love one another.


But, beloved, we are persuaded of better things for you, and things that accompany salvation, even though we speak like this.


Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. But we know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is.


Beloved, if our hearts don't condemn us, we have boldness toward God;


Beloved, don't believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.


Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God.


Beloved, if God loved us in this way, we also ought to love one another.


This mitzvah we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.
