In the fifteenth year of Amatzyah the son of Yo'ash king of Yehudah Yarov`am the son of Yo'ash king of Yisra'el began to reign in Shomron, [and reigned] forty-one years.
Now the rest of the acts of Yarov`am, and all that he did, and his might, how he warred, and how he recovered Damascus, and Chamat, [which had belonged] to Yehudah, for Yisra'el, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Yisra'el?
The LORD struck the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and lived in a separate house. Yotam the king's son was over the household, judging the people of the land.
Yotam was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Yerushalayim: and his mother's name was Yerusha the daughter of Tzadok.
