Yeho'achaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Yerushalayim: and his mother's name was Chamutal the daughter of Yirmeyahu of Livna.
Par`oh-Nekho made Elyakim the son of Yoshiyahu king in the room of Yoshiyahu his father, and changed his name to Yehoiakim: but he took Yeho'achaz away; and he came to Egypt, and died there.
At the return of the year king Nevukhadnetzar 1 sent, and brought him to Bavel, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Tzidkiyahu his brother king over Yehudah and Yerushalayim.
It came also in the days of Yehoiakim the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah, to the end of the eleventh year of Tzidkiyahu, the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah, to the carrying away of Yerushalayim captive in the fifth month.
For thus says the LORD touching Shallum the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah, who reigned instead of Yoshiyahu his father, [and] who went forth out of this place: He shall not return there any more.
Therefore thus says the LORD concerning Yehoiakim the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Yehudah: they shall not lament for him, [saying], Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! They shall not lament for him, [saying] Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!
As the bad figs, which can't be eaten, they are so bad, surely thus says the LORD, So will I give up Tzidkiyahu the king of Yehudah, and his princes, and the residue of Yerushalayim, who remain in this land, and those who dwell in the land of Egypt,
Tzidkiyahu the son of Yoshiyahu reigned as king, instead of Konyahu the son of Yehoiakim, whom Nevukhadnetzar 1 king of Bavel made king in the land of Yehudah.
