David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and shalom offerings, and called on the LORD; and he answered him from the sky by fire on the altar of burnt offering.
You call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the LORD; and the God who answers by fire, let him be God.* All the people answered, *It is well said.*
Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
Then Shlomo began to build the house of the LORD at Yerushalayim on Mount Moriyah, where [the LORD] appeared to David his father, which he made ready in the place that David had appointed, in the threshing floor of Ornan the Yevusi.

For it happened, when the flame went up toward the sky from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar: and Manoach and his wife looked on; and they fell on their faces to the ground.
Then the angel of the LORD put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there went up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and the angel of the LORD departed out of his sight.
